Pongal,the harvest festival of Tamil Nadu was celebrated on 20^th January 2026 with traditional fervor and cultural spirit at St. Thomas Campus Padappai jointly by HIET – Aviation College, Polytechnic College & HIS-V.  The Chief Guest was Mr. Elumalai, President of Serpanancheri.  The students participated in the various competitionsand cultural program. The Honourable Chairman  Dr. Anand Jacob Vergheseattended and grace the function.

The campus was beautifully decorated with colorful kolams, sugarcane stalks, turmeric plants, traditional earthen pots and bullock carts creating a vibrant rural atmosphere.

The traditional Pongal dish was prepared in an earthen pot as everyone joyfully chanted “Pongalo Pongal” symbolizing abundance and gratitude to nature, farmers and the sun god.
