MOU’s of Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC)

This Memorandum of Undertaking is made on 6th July 2019, the MOU between Automotivce Skill Development Council, New Delhi herein refer to as ASDC having its apex office at SIPCOT, Chennai and Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology (HIET), Chennai which expression shall include authorized representative of ASDC having its Office at Chennai.

The MOU is signed between Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Director and CEO of Hindustan Group of Institutions (HGI) and Shri. Arindam Lahiri, CEO of ASDC in presence of HIET Principal and other staff members of the college held at KCG College of Technology, Chennai.

HIET has made MOU with M/s Lotte Corporation India Ltd., Chennai. Moreover, we have been given training to the employees of the company on 28.6.19 to 29.6.19. Corporate training has evolved rapidly in recent years to move beyond training new technology. Learning and development of professionals and academic trainers are seen as strategic partners who are critical to the success of their company. Why? Corporate company’s today suffer from a skills gap.  This means companies have to train, retrain, and jointly educate employees in order to grow. Companies will need to build leadership and communication skills at all levels and in all locations around the world.

MOU with M/s Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt. Ltd.,

HIET, Chennai has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with M/s Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt. Ltd., Chennai for promoting and reinforcing cooperation, mutual exchange of Information and Technological know- how, joint collaborative work in curriculum development and infrastructure development.

The signing ceremony was done at HIET on 24th June 2019 at our college in the presence of the officials from the company. For the signing of the MOU, HIET was represented by its Director Mr. Ashok Verghese, Hindustan Group of Institutions while M/s Renault Nissan Automotive Pvt. Ltd., Chennai was represented by its Managing Director Mr. Biju Balendran.

HIET and Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt. Ltd., Chennai has signed an MOU for providing training of the employees of the company on 3.6.19 at our college. By this MOU employees can access Video Lectures and class notes of HIET faculty members during the time of training.

HIET has signed MOU with M/s RANE Madras, Chennai. According to our MOU we have been given training to the employees of the company on 7.5.19 to 8.5.19 and 6.6.19. HIET has given fruitful training to the company employees for conducting the class room lectures, Video presentation and  test to the company employees.

MOU between National Automotive R & D Infrastructure Project (NATRIP)

This Memorandum of Undertaking is made on 29th November 2017, the MOU between National Automotive R & D Infrastructure Project (NATRIP) herein refer to as NATRIP having its apex office of Global Automotive Research Centre (GARC) at SIPCOT, Chennai and Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology (HIET), Chennai which expression shall include authorized representative of GARC having its Office at Chennai.

The MOU is signed between Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Director and CEO of Hindustan Group of Institutions (HGI) and Shri. Ramachandran, Site Head, GARC in presence of Dr. Elizabeth Verghese, Chairperson and Shri. Ashok Verghese, Director of HGI.Therefore HIET and NATRIP agree to establish a programme for cooperation in the areas of mutual interest and in accordance with terms and conditions set forth in this memorandum of Understanding.

The goal of this co-operation is to foster collaboration, provide opportunity for experience and to facilitate advancement of knowledge on the basis of reciprocity, best efforts, mutual benefit and frequent interaction and agree to explore the possibility of engaging in the modes of collaboration.

CIDC (Construction Industry Development Council)

CIDC_LogoThe Planning Commission, Government of India, jointly with the Indian construction industry has set up Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) to take up activities for the development of the Indian construction industry. CIDC has established a number of institutes, centers and academies for training in construction trades including training ofoperators of modern construction plant and machinery. This network ensures dissemination of modern, environment friendly as well as regionally and ethnically relevant technologies. CIDC has also developed a system for standardization oftraining, testing and certification. CIDC hasbeen nominated by the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India and Govt. of Haryana to certify skill of construction workers in several trades. CIDC also works to offer higher educational programmes for executives to enhance their skills and help them to meet the challenges of globalization and the changing economic environment.

HIET, being a pioneer education institute having 46 years of experience in Technical Education had signed an MOU with CIDC for conducting construction oriented technical training courses.

ASDC

 asdcAutomotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) is a skill development council for Automotive sector jointly promoted by Department of Heavy Industry (Ministry of Heavy Industries), Government of India, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and India Automotive Industry represented by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and Federation of Automobile Dealers Association of India (FADA).

HIET Polytechnic College having 46 years of experience in imparting technical education and Skill development Training signed an MOU with ASDC for imparting value added training programme. These programmes are examined and certified by ASDC. All leading OEMs and Dealerships have been visiting for interaction with candidates on regular basis and after completion of programme, based on interviews; candidates get good employment opportunities at various automotive dealerships and industry.

Indian Institute of Welding (IIW- India) approved training centre was inaugurated at HIET Polytechnic college padappai. Dr.Hassan Shaikh, Vice President – South, IIW was the chief guest, in his inaugural address Dr.Hassan Shaikh elaborated about the skill development initiative taken by IIW Kolkata and encouraged the students to choose welding as a potential career and gain highly remunerative employment in India & Abroad. Mr.V.Muralidharan, Chairman IIW Chennai chapter was the guest of honor and gave a presentation about welding training and certification and the importance of welding in the present day manufacturing sector. Various specialized courses are offered through this partnership..

Pudhu Vaazhvu

CertificatePudhuVaazhvu Project is an empowerment and poverty alleviation project implemented by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj department of Government of Tamilnadu with World Bank assistance. The project is implemented over a 6 year period extended upto September 2014 at an outlay of Rs.717 crores. The Project covers 2509 village panchayats in 70 Backward Blocks in 16 districts. Though the project was launched in November 2005, effective implementation has commenced only from August 2006. Now with additional financing, the project has expanded its operations to 10 more addition districts covers 1661 VPs in 50 backward blocks for a period of 3 years till September 2014 with an outlay of Rs.950 crores.

The target population of this Project are, the poor households, the most vulnerable sections including the physically challenged and the marginalized communities. The project follows the CDD approach wherein village communities identify their own needs, design and plan interventions and implement and monitor them by adopting key nonnegotiable principles of the project. There is a strong sense of ownership of the project among the community members.

HIET Polytechnic College is one of the approved training partner institute to conduct technical training courses under this project. Currently HIET had successfully completed two batches of students under pudhuvaazhvu project. These students are from rural areas around Chennai. About 53 students successfully completed their certification courses and got placed in various automotive companies like SMK Suzuki, Jai bajaj, Manasarovar Honda etc.
